March 8th is International Women’s Day, a time to celebrate the achievements of women around the world—both in history and today. It’s important for children to learn about strong, intelligent, and brave women who have made a difference. By introducing young learners to inspiring female figures, we help them see that hard work, courage, and determination can lead to great accomplishments, no matter who they are.
From scientists and astronauts to writers and athletes, women have contributed to every field, shaping the world we live in. Teaching children about these role models not only broadens their knowledge but also encourages them to dream big and believe in themselves. For girls, it shows that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. For boys, it teaches respect and appreciation for the contributions of women in society.

To make learning fun and engaging, I have created a set of 12 Women’s Day-themed reading comprehension worksheets perfect for grade 1 students and ESL learners. Each worksheet features a short, easy-to-read passage about an inspiring woman, followed by multiple-choice and short-answer questions to test understanding. These worksheets are designed to improve reading skills while introducing children to great female role models.

The full 12-worksheet pack covers women like Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Florence Nightingale, Wangari Maathai, Frida Kahlo, Jane Goodall, Helen Keller, Malala Yousafzai, Serena Williams, Valentina Tereshkova, and Ada Lovelace. But to celebrate Women’s Day, I am offering four of them for free!
