Hello friends,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My 8 years old son has finally learned how to ride a bicycle. My elder one learned how to ride a bike at a very young age and he has always had better reflexes than his younger brother. My younger one is clumsier on a bike and being a mother, it scares me when he goes out to ride his bike. However, getting some fresh air and exercise is also essential for children. I spent some time teaching him about road safety rules and this gave me the idea that this deserves a proper booklet like my <\/span>booklet on verbs<\/a><\/b>. So, here I am with my road safety booklet with <\/span>36<\/span><\/b> flashcards<\/span><\/b> that you can print and cut and turn into amazingly durable flashcards. Let’s talk about traffic safety rules first.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to cross a road:<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Look for the zebra crossing. Stand on the side of the road with the zebra crossing in front of you.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Look to your right.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Look to your left.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Look to your right again to make sure no vehicle is coming and then, cross the road.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traffic signals:<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You might have seen the traffic signals on roads with their red, yellow, and green lights. They control the direction of traffic. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green means go. So, vehicles should start moving.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yellow means a warning to slow down as the light will soon be turning red.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red means stop. So, vehicles should stop if the light is red in front of them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also put together some golden road safety rules that should be taught to all children.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Golden Road Safety rules:<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Walk on the footpath.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Wear a helmet while riding a bike.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Learn the rules to cross the road.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Don’t rush to get on your van or bus and always make a queue.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Don’t try to get out of the bus when it is still moving. Keep sitting until it comes to a complete stop.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Learn about road and traffic signs.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Road and traffic signs:<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Traffic and road signs are usually placed at the side of roads to give instructions or provide information to road users. Following these signs is very important to avoid accidents.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    These signs should be clearly understood by the people driving vehicles. Also, children need to know these signs as they might be using the road to walk or bike to their school or park. Pictures are normally used on the road signs so that the message is clear to all. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
